Every young person has a story. Our mission is to provide the tools, training, and forums to harness young people's creativity and make their voices heard. Our mission is to empower youth to engage youth in social development dialogue.

Our Principles:
Engage: Creating opportunities for youth to think critically and engage in meaningful media-making.

Enhance: Offering opportunities to youth to develop through training, capacity-building, and exposure to 21st century tools.

Exhibit: Facilitating youth to exhibit their creative work to local and international audience.

Adobe Youth Voices (AYV) has selected Shilpa Sayura as its partner for implementing its creative youth program which supports young people to use of cutting-edge multimedia tools to communicate and share their ideas, demonstrate their potential, and create a positive social impact in where they live.

Shilpa Sayura Foundation is among global strategic partners selected by Adobe Youth Voices after an open call in December 2010. The Program began training of educators on May 27th, which included 2 Shilpa Sayura Educators.

Adobe Youth Voices engage talented educators in a professional development and support program to enhance their teaching strategies, gain new skills, and collaborate with youth media experts to enable youth to express themselves using digital tools and to create media with a personally meaningful purpose.

Strategic partners are selected based on their ability to scale the program through large networks of schools or community-based organizations, either in a geographic region or globally.

"This is a great Honor for us, for our good work in developing rural youth. We plan to extend this program to create youth employment in emerging social media field" Shilpa Sayura Project Director Niranjan Meegammana said.

Shilpa Sayura Foundation will seek 100 creative youth in Kandy and Monaragala in August to be trained and take part in a global creative youth media production project which aims to develop youth skills for using effectively using digital tools to capitalize on new learning opportunities for presenting youth ideas use media to express themselves.

Shilpa Sayura Creative Youth program aims to provides under served youth with the skills they need to prosper in the 21st century economy. A comprehensive 21st century education enables students to think analytically, communicate effectively, work collaboratively to solve complex problems.

The rudimentary, basic skills of education of the past era is no longer sufficient. Creativity and technology are central to learning, synthesizing information, and exchanging ideas. Many youth are denied the benefit of this essential 21st century education because they lack access to appropriate technological resources, and their educators are not equipped or supported to use technology to enhance learning.

Young people see change and technology all around them and may feel detached from their outmoded education. They doubt the relevance of schooling and how it will benefit them in the future. Hence they may become increasingly apathetic and disengaged. This lack of engagement is a major cause of dropping out of school.

The greatest barrier for many young people is their lack of belief in themselves and their own power to change their lives and their world. This program affirms the potential of under served youth by providing them with breakthrough opportunities to express their ideas using digital media.
