During eight weeks, youth will learn about media forms and formats; process product and presentation; community collaboration and exhibition, and technical skills necessary to use Adobe creative media software. It is expected that by the end of this course youth will be able to become a creative young person truly creating media with a purpose.

2.Models of instructional practice
3.The value and methodologies of youth media making.
4.The various media formats in which youth work can be created.
5.Steps and strategies to facilitating effective youth media making.
6.Community connections and strategies for building and engaging audiences.
Prerequisites
1.Basic word processing, Internet and e-mailing skills
2.Access to a computer and Internet
3.Ability to commit at least four hours per week for course activities
4.Working knowledge of English
Course Requirements In order to successfully complete this course, participants must meet the following requirements:
1. Media Reflection - Each week you are expected to view and reflect on selected Adobe Youth Voices media works.
Course Activities
You are expected to complete the required course activities
Final Product
You are expected to complete 10 media items for selection for weekly rounds
The Course facilitators will review and assess your progress throughout the course and give you grades for completed assignments.
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion which verifies completion of the course requirements.
Technical Requirements
You must have Internet access with an updated web browser, preferably FireFox.
Active Email Account
You must have an active email account that you check regularly. .
Adobe Flash Player 9
You must have Adobe Flash Player 9 or higher installed on your computer. Adobe Flash Player is needed to view the youth media samples on the AYV site.
Adobe Reader
To read many of the files (PDF) you will need an updated version of Adobe Reader.
Adobe Media Player (Optional)
Adobe Media Player software will be necessary if you wish to download the youth media samples for viewing (all samples are also available to view online).
